Job Description:

A large commercial real estate services and investment company is searching for a Building Engineer to join their team in Irvine, CA. This position would require 5 days on-site a week, traveling to various clients buildings all within a 10 to 15 minute radius from one another. Please see the additional details of the role:

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance and Safety: Adheres to all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• System Inspections: Regularly inspects building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure they operate within design capabilities and meet prescribed environmental conditions.
• Contractor Oversight: Supervises and inspects work performed by outside contractors, including landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning services.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Performs assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance tasks. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
• Work Order Management: Reviews assigned work orders, estimates time and materials needed for repairs, and orders necessary materials and supplies to complete tasks.
• Energy Management: Maintains an energy management program to ensure all systems operate efficiently, minimizing operating costs.
• Lighting Maintenance: Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
• General Maintenance: Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.
• Emergency Response: Responds promptly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as necessary.
• Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience working within Building Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire alarm systems.
• Proficiency with electrical safety practices, including lock out/tag out procedures.
• EPA 608 certification.
• NFPA 70E certification.
• Ability to manage and oversee the work of outside contractors.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Compensation:

$70,000 to $72,000

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
