Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Firewall Infrastructure Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) . Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry.

Rate Range: $70/hour to $75/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and understand existing and emerging business and technical requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs for successful production implementation.
• Add, modify, and delete firewall rules, NAT rules, and object groups.
• Ensure adherence to security policies and best practices.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network security operations.
• Manage and resolve client escalations, setting appropriate expectations.
• Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and leadership within the team.
• Maintain organized, detail-oriented workflows with a proactive approach.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in Network Services.
• Strong knowledge and experience with network technologies.
• Hands-on experience with firewall technologies, specifically Fortinet and Checkpoint.
• Understanding of networking protocols and technologies including LAN, WAN, MAN, Optical, Routing, Switching, Proxy/Threat Prevention, DDI, Load Balancing, and AAA.
• Experience working in financial services (insurance, banking, investment banking) is a plus.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes such as ITIL and Agile methodologies.
• Proven ability to manage multiple project tracks and collaborate across teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients at all levels.
