Cambridge in America Twelve-week Paid Summer Internship

Start Date: June 2, 2025

End Date: August 21, 2025

Application Deadline: April 11, 2025

Payment : $20 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm, in the Cambridge in America office with an unpaid hour for lunch.

Are you a passionate and driven student looking to gain real-world experience in the non-profit sector? Cambridge in America, a small but impactful fundraising organization supporting the University of Cambridge, is seeking an enthusiastic intern to join our team this summer!

We connect alumni, friends, and foundations in the United States with the groundbreaking research and educational opportunities at the University of Cambridge. We raise funds to support scholarships, research initiatives, and vital programs that shape the future.

About the Internship:

This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to our mission. You will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of non-profit fundraising and operations, working closely with our dedicated team. Responsibilities may include:

  • Development & Fundraising: Assisting with donor research, preparing materials for fundraising campaigns.
  • Communications, Marketing and Alumni Relations: Creating engaging content for social media, website updates, drafting newsletters, and assisting with media outreach, and event planning support.
  • Office Administration and Advancement Services: Database entry and managing data, preparing reports, and providing general administrative support.
  • Board Relations: Introduction to Board management procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in non-profit organizations and higher education.
  • A passion for making a difference!
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willing to learn a customized software program.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be a US citizen or a legal permanent resident.
  • Applicant must be able to work in the office for four days a week.
  • Applicant must be able to commit to a 12-week internship, from June 2, 2025, through August 21, 2025.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program as either a full-time junior or senior.
  • Applicant must have an overall G.P.A. of at least 3.0 and be in good standing with their institution.

  • A cover letter or personal statement addressing the applicant’s interest in fundraising and development for a non-profit organization. This is a necessary part of the application process and any submissions without this document will not be considered for the position.
  • An unofficial transcript and a current resume must be submitted as part of the application process.
  • Contact information, including name, title, phone number and email address for two individuals, preferably professors, advisors, or work supervisors, who can serve as references, must be submitted with the abovementioned materials.
