The Common Good is a community-based nonprofit organization supporting Northwest Tulsa. Our after-school program works with TPS elementary students and focuses on literacy and social-emotional learning.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to lead our DHS licensed after-school program for elementary students. The Head Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing a safe and engaging after-school program that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of our students. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children, a strong commitment to quality education, and the ability to lead a team of teachers and assistants.
Responsibilities
•Develop and implement an age-appropriate after-school curriculum that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of our students
•Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the program
•Work in tandem with an assistant teacher to lead literacy-based curriculum for 15-20 students.
•Plan and oversee daily activities, including homework help, snack time, and recreational activities
•Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress and behavior
•Collaborate with other staff members and administrators to ensure the program meets the needs of all students
•Manage the program's resources effectively
•Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
✅Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (experience can be substituted)
✅At least 3 years of experience working in an after-school program or related setting
✅Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✅Strong organizational and time management skills
✅Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and administrators
✅Passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development

Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
