Job Description

About the Role - Seeking qualified personnel to fill the role of a Project Controls Manager. The Project Controls Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of project controls for construction projects of all sizes. This includes but not limited to planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and project performance tracking. The role is critical to ensuring that projects, including those in challenging remote work environments, are executed on time and within budget. Pipeline Project, work remote on site. 60% of time at project on North Slope, 40% in Anchorage.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning / Scheduling:
  • Develop and maintain detailed, accurate project schedules
  • Coordinate with project management to gather data for realistic scheduling, including material lead times, seasonal constraints, and workforce availability.
  • Proactively address and resolve scheduling conflicts caused by weather delays, resource shortages, or transportation challenges.
  • Cost Control / Budget Management:
  • Establish and manage project budgets, ensuring that all project activities are aligned with financial goals.
  • Track project costs and provide forecasts and identifying potential budget overages.
  • Performance Monitoring / Reporting:
  • Monitor project performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) related to time, cost, quality, and safety.
  • Produce performance and cost reports and provide updates highlighting any variances from the plan and corrective actions taken.
  • Participate in project review meetings, communicating the status of schedules, budgets, and risks.
  • Regularly review project control processes and recommend improvements based on lessons learned from current and past projects.
  • Team Management:
  • Manage and mentor a team of project controls specialists, ensuring they have the necessary training and resources to effectively manage project controls tasks.
  • Work together with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and costs.
  • Act as the key point of contact for all project control-related issues, facilitating communication between on-site teams and project leadership.

Qualifications -Minimum 8–10 years of experience in project controls, with a significant portion of that in oil, gas, or large infrastructure projects. Experience working in remote or challenging environments, North Slope experience is highly preferred. Strong background in cost management, scheduling, risk management, and performance monitoring
