Job Description

Job Title: Senior Accountant – Payroll

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for 200+ employees, including bonuses, commissions, annual payments, and manual checks.
  • Serve as payroll and timekeeping subject matter expert, including training and compliance.
  • Audit and ensure staff timesheet compliance; report non-compliance issues to management.
  • Manage employee wage garnishments and partner with payroll providers to address tax-related matters.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts, resolve discrepancies, and prepare payroll-related reports.
  • Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries and advise management on compliance updates.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies.
  • Support audits (workers’ compensation, 401k) and assist with month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Provide accounting support as needed, including financial reports and data entry.
  • Manage and ensure proper allocation, maintenance, and sales team support.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • CPP designation is a plus but not required.
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience, including familiarity with commissions-based pay.
  • Experience using Paycom, ADP, or similar payroll software; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel, are essential.
  • Familiarity with federal and state wage and hour laws and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
  • Critical thinking, adaptability, accuracy, diligence, and dependability in a challenging work environment.

 

PAY TRANSPARENCY: The estimated annual pay range for this position is $85k - $95k + discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will be determined by the hiring authority and may vary depending on qualifications and other factors relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
