A Day in the Life of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk

As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at Bryce Fastener Co, you’ll play a vital role in keeping warehouse operations running smoothly. You’ll handle incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure that all products are prepared and delivered on time. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will help ensure that customer orders are shipped correctly and that incoming materials are properly tracked.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and package orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling
• Use computer systems to track inventory, generate shipping labels, and update order status
• Coordinate with freight carriers and shipping services to schedule pickups and deliveries
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders
• Maintain organized records of shipments, receipts, and inventory adjustments
• Safely operate a forklift to move, load, and unload materials
• Follow safety procedures and company policies
• Assist with general warehouse duties as needed

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 1+ years of previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it
• Comfortable using computers and shipping software - need to know how to navigate FedEx and international shipping
• Ability to work with packaging materials and freight service coordination
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Punctual, reliable, and a strong work ethic
