GB7CU is based on a MMDVM Repeater Board. Basically a Raspberry Pi running on higher power connected to antenna. With DMR you can have 2 conversations on 1 repeater using Time Slots. TS1 & TS2. If you pick someone up using the repeater on a time slot, you can use the other time slot and start another QSO.
To Access the Repeater You need to know:
- COLOUR CODE 1 (CC1) (this is like a ctcss Tone on FM – This open the repeater)
- TIME SLOT 1 (TS1) – Normally the Internet Traffic / Network Traffic
- TIME SLOT 2 (TS2) – This is the cumbriaCQ and LOCAL Traffic Slot (see TG list below)
Talk Group Numbers
DMR Uses Talkgroup for various networks. You can Dial into any network and speak with anyone on that network.
GB7CU Talk groups (updated on 13/06/24)
- TG 6 on TS2 is the CumbriaCQ Network. This will be linked to the full network, Allstar, WiresX, YSF and FM. – Digtial YSF Dashboard can be found HERE and the ALLSTAR Dashboards can be found HERE
- TG9 on TS2 is for local RF to RF traffic.
Current DMR MASTER Network Connections:
Each Network requires a Prefix Number and 7 digits. apart from Brandmeister Network and the TG6 and TG9. The Repeater is based on a MMDVM board, so if you already use a Pi-star then it works exactly like that on DMR.
- XLX921 Multimode Server – This is cumbriaCQ Multi mode server. This is used to interconnect networks.
Currently GB7CU is set to XLX921 Module A which is the cumbria CQ network. To access this use Talk Group 6 on your radio. The XLX921 Dashboard can be found here. - Brandmeister Network – This is a DMR Master network. You can use the talk groups exactly as they are printed on the website here: https://brandmeister.network/?page=talkgroups
- System X Server– System X Talkgroups can be found here – For Example to connect to the FREESTAR Network You will use TG4023426. To connect to the CQ UK Network you will use TG4002351
- TGIF Network – Talkgroups can be found here
- ECHO TEST – You Can Check Your Audio Using Talk group TG9990
- Disconnect from any talk group Dial 4000 on your radio. All dynamic talk groups will disconnect from
Non Static Talk Groups will AUTO DISCONNECT after about 30 minutes
